MCM Kitchen Remodel | Squirrel Hill, Pittsburgh
PROCESS
EngineHouse provided the fabrication and installation services that invited a fresh exploration of the mid-century modern style into this Squirrel Hill home.
FINISHED PRODUCT
New, custom-built cherry-veneered cabinetry, an entry bench, and a sliding-door storage cabinet set the tone for a rich yet minimalist aesthetic and improve the day-to-day functionality of the space. The custom circular window framed by a cherry-trim ring and shiplap slat wall incorporates a novel element, a slightly nautical nod to the sense of adventure that often precedes or follows any passage through a mudroom. The glowing casework was hand-oiled with Osmo and features custom scooped pulls by Ware Design Works. Everything is balanced by the muted blue backsplash and the cool, mottled stone countertops.
